Osaka City Official Bribery and Leak Case

In May 2026, Osaka City Construction Bureau Director Yamada Taro was arrested for violating the Local Public Service Act. Investigations revealed that Yamada had repeatedly leaked confidential bid ceiling prices to Kimura Yuki, CEO of Kansai Construction Co., in exchange for cash bribes totaling approximately 15 million yen and lavish entertainment between January and April 2026. The leaked information allowed Kimura's company to secure three public works contracts worth over 2 billion yen.
