The Obedience Syllabus

In the shadow of a landmark voter suppression case, a disgraced psychology professor at a struggling Alabama university recruits five students for what they believe is a study on social compliance. Each student carries scars of societal rejection—poverty, racism, foster care, criminal records, undocumented status. As the experiment escalates from humiliation tasks to acts of violence, the line between academic inquiry and ritualistic murder dissolves. The first body is found on the eve of a historic court ruling, bearing a note: "Only the invisible see the truth."
