The Well Keeper

When a journalist enters a sealed-off village to uncover a child’s disappearance, he is condemned by a chilling tribunal rooted in archaic clan law. The enforcer, a man shaped by a childhood execution, carries out the sentence and then, following the ancient precedent of Wei Jiang, binds himself and awaits judgment, only to discover that at the edge of civilization, justice is merely a hollow ritual.
