Novel Summary
In the tradition of Michael Crichton, a brilliant but morally unmoored psychology professor at Millfield University recruits social outcasts for a covert obedience experiment. Inspired by the real-world denial of disability claims, he seeks to prove that institutional rejection catalyzes extreme submission to authority. When his subjects begin enacting their conditioned cruelty outside the lab, a series of ritualistic murders targeting welfare bureaucrats sweeps the State of Meridia. The experiment spirals into a bloody nightmare, revealing that every killer was once a soul the system refused to hear.
