Novel Summary
In the Federal Union of Columbia, Victor Prince is a young welder struggling to pay for his mother's experimental cancer treatment. Desperate, he is lured into The Gilded Cage, an illegal underground boxing circuit run by the elite. When a staged "blood bout" turns fatal, Victor becomes the prime suspect. Detective Marcus Cole arrests him with brutal force, and the ensuing lawsuit, Prince v. Cole et al, becomes a lightning rod for media and judicial bias. Told through multiple unreliable perspectives, the story reveals how the same piece of evidence—a grainy cell phone video—can be weaponized by prejudice, forcing Victor to fight not only for his freedom in court but for his life in the ring, where the final bout is a hunt staged for the wealthy's amusement.
