Novel Summary
In the fictional North Zangkar Valley, a brutal attack on tourists shatters a fragile peace. In the aftermath, a radical organization known as "The Correction" rises to power, promising to eradicate crime by executing anyone with a "latent criminal profile." Through the eyes of Reina, a survivor trapped in this new paranoid reality, the novel explores the chilling moment when the systems designed to protect us begin to see everyone as a threat. Inspired by Emma Donoghue’s exploration of moral terror in enclosed spaces, this story questions what remains of humanity when justice turns pre-emptive.
