The Debt Ritual

In the crumbling city of Dunport, Commonwealth of New Mercia, a predatory loan servicing empire has driven countless families to ruin. When the courts and regulators are bought, Professor Elias Vane, a disgraced Assyriologist, unearths an ancient Mesopotamian curse—the Ledger of Nergal—to execute the executives who escaped earthly justice. As ritualistic deaths mount, he discovers that the entity he invoked is not merely a metaphor. In a society where justice can only be achieved through dark magic, even that path is corrupted, and the final account must be settled in blood.
