Novel Summary
In the fictional republic of Erebia, a landmark judicial ruling relaxes the appointment of temporary justices to the Supreme Tribunal. Idealistic attorney Elias Crowe infiltrates the court to expose corruption, only to become ensnared by Alaric Dray, a reclusive judge and former performance artist who believes the law itself is his ultimate medium. As Elias obsessively pursues a series of ritualistic deaths linked to Dray's trials, he is drawn into a terrifying vision of justice as living sculpture. His desperate search for truth warps into complicity, leading to a final session where the courtroom becomes a death-installation, and the line between revelation and annihilation vanishes in a single, catastrophic performance.
