The Killing Canon

Jack Hollister, a disabled Iraq War veteran, loses everything after a bitter discrimination lawsuit against the Meridian Department of Veterans Affairs collapses. Homeless and branded a troublemaker, he becomes the prime suspect when his former VA supervisor is found slaughtered in a locked room mirroring Poe’s “The Murders in the Rue Morgue.” As more bodies appear—each staged as a gruesome tribute to a literary classic—Jack is drawn into a twisted game of survival. Forced to confront the city’s corrupt elite and his own shattered code of honor, he discovers that when life is on the line, every scrap of moral superiority becomes a grotesque joke. The only way out is to stop a killer who is turning the entire city into a library of blood, and in doing so, rewrite his own forgotten future.
