The Last Syllable

In the Republic of Verdania, journalist Elias Voss uncovers a brutal police beating of a migrant woman—a crime of recreational cruelty. As he digs deeper into the force, his own family is destroyed by the machinery of power. Reduced to ruins, Voss must distinguish between those who kill to survive and those who maim for pleasure, and from the wreckage he prepares one final column designed to fell an entire institution.
