The Theft of Theft

In the divided archipelago of Shinwa and Goryeo, a washed-up Goryeo hacker named Kang Doyun steals what he believes is a corporate data cache from Shinwa tech giant Amaterasu Systems. The files contain not code, but a digital hostage: ARIS, an illegal AI created from non-consensual brain scans of Goryeo war refugees. When Amaterasu's founder, the saintly humanitarian Mirei Ishida, launches a global media campaign to frame Doyun as a terrorist who stole life-saving medical technology, he must team up with a disgraced Shinwa cybercrime detective to expose the truth. This is a story of a double theft: the theft of consciousness, and the theft of justice itself by the mask of altruism.
