Shadows God Forgot

In the sweltering shadow of a Carnival season, the fatal police shooting of a young Black man ignites a firestorm in the divided city of Port Sable. Homicide detective Elias Voss, haunted by a missing daughter and a lifetime of buried secrets, is assigned the case. But as masked revelers flood the streets, a series of ritualistic, collective murders unfolds—each crime scene a bleak tableau that seems to trace the outline of an absent God. Voss soon realizes that beneath the music and the masquerade, the entire city is complicit in a waking nightmare where the boundary between justice and demonic possession dissolves, and every criminal profile he sketches is merely a silhouette of a divine shadow that has long since abandoned them all.
