Novel Summary
In a decaying coastal town, a meek archivist named Elias Cole becomes obsessed with the infamous "Carrion Creek Killer"—a serial murderer who eluded capture a decade ago. Elias begins to reconstruct the killer's crimes in a private journal, but as he mimics the killer's methods in his mind, the line between recollection and invention blurs. When a new murder surfaces with his signature, Elias cannot tell if he committed it, dreamed it, or if someone is framing him using his own fractured memories. A psychological descent where the witness is also the suspect, and the truth is whatever the broken mind allows.
