The Mortar of Lies

Eli Crane, a lonely construction foreman in the fading industrial town of Bannock, idolises the long-dead serial architect-killer Alaric Voss. When his company is crushed in a brutal payment dispute, Eli’s memory begins to curdle—Voss’s voice whispers blueprints for justice in his ear. As the boundary between remembered trauma and hallucinated retribution collapses, Eli sets out to fix the flawed building of his life with the only tool left: murder.
