Mercy Kills Twice

In the rain-slick streets of Greyhollow, Albernia, a disgraced attorney's suicide opens a door to the uncanny. A psychiatrist discovers a diary written by the ghost of Edwin Whitworth, a client who died after a botched legal malpractice case. The specter pleads for the reader's sympathy to exact revenge on the living lawyer, Damian Mezrano. But as the narrative twists through fractured memories and impossible testimonies, a far darker truth emerges: the storyteller is not the victim, and the reader's compassion is the final, lethal instrument of a self-inflicted execution.
