Shadow's Deadlock

In the rain-soaked city of Port Camden, private detective Leo Cross specializes in tracking unfaithful spouses and runaway debtors. His latest job—shadowing a mid-level bureaucrat named Victor Hale—seems routine. But soon Cross notices a second pair of footsteps echoing his own. The hunter becomes the hunted. As the two shadows converge in a decaying waterfront warehouse, they uncover a crime so haphazard that its perfection was never planned, only stumbled upon through blind luck and bureaucratic sloth. A dark meditation on chance, guilt, and the ordinary horror of being human.
