He discovers that every recipient had, weeks earlier, anonymously reported someone else—to the IRS, to child services, to the school board. The original letter about Frank was actually written by his own daughter-in-law, who feared her husband’s inheritance would vanish if Frank remarried. But that letter was then copied and modified by Cora’s clerk, who added the voting-fraud claim to damage Frank’s son. The clerk confesses under pressure, but Cora claims judicial immunity. The lawyer files a federal lawsuit—Jones v. Vane et al.
